Chelsea are set to kick-start their Champions League journey against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, in a match where both unbeaten teams will be put to the test. Enzo Maresca's Blues have remained undefeated in the first four weeks of the Premier League season, while Bayern have not only maintained an unbeaten record in the Bundesliga but have also secured three victories.

The Blues are making a triumphant return to the pinnacle of European football for the first time since the 2022/23 season, when they were defeated by Real Madrid in the quarter-finals. However, they enter the competition as reigning Conference League and Club World Cup champions, having triumphed over European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the latter. Chelsea could see Cole Palmer back in the starting line-up in Bavaria after the England international scored upon his return from the bench against Brentford on Saturday. As fans gear up to watch the Blues compete in a different European competition this season, Express Sport brings you all you need to know.

When does the match start?

Bayern Munich vs Chelsea is scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time on Wednesday, September 16. It is one of four matches commencing at that time, alongside Ajax vs Inter Milan, Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain vs Atalanta.

The game will take place at the Allianz Arena, the stage upon which Chelsea famously won the Champions League final against Bayern in 2012.

How can I watch the match in the UK?

Chelsea's clash can be viewed on TNT Sports in the UK. Coverage will commence on TNT Sports 2, with pre-match analysis starting at 7pm, and fans can also stream the match via the Discovery+ app.
