Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a fifth goalkeeper, with Leicester City star Mads Hermansen coming under consideration. The Blues have been heavily linked with signing a new shot-stopper, having failed to get a deal over the line for AC Milan's Mike Maignan ahead of the Club World Cup.
Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez has also been cited as a consideration at Stamford Bridge, as well as Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka - who spent three years in the Chelsea academy.
According to the Daily Mail, Leicester's Hermansen is also attracting interest from the Blues, and he is likely to be on the move this summer following his side's relegation to the Championship.
There is 'every chance' that the Danish goalkeeper will be competing in a top five European league next season, and a return to the Premier League is firmly on the cards. Chelsea are cited as being among Hermansen's admirers, as well as West Ham - who have been linked with Robert Sanchez previously.
If Enzo Maresca's side decide to make a move for the 24-year-old, it is likely to leave several stars already on the Blues' books unhappy. Chelsea already have four goalkeepers ready to battle it out for the No. 1 spot, and sales are already on the cards in the goalkeeping department.
Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen were the Blues' two goalkeepers last season, with the former playing Premier League fixtures and the latter rotated into the starting XI for cup competitions. Djordje Petrovic is also in the picture after an impressive loan at Strasbourg, though it appears likely that he will be sold at this stage.
Chelsea also now have a tough decision to make regarding Mike Penders. The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with Belgium outfit Genk, but it has since emerged that he could remain in London for the upcoming campaign and be third-choice - though a decision is not set in stone at this stage.
If Hermansen were to arrive, Penders could find himself out on loan again elsewhere in Europe - and he is unlikely to be short of suitors given his growing reputation. However, the departures of Sanchez or Jorgensen cannot be ruled out either which would then reshuffle the pecking order at Stamford Bridge as well.
