Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly quit Strictly - only one's the talk of TV land

Claudia and Tess waltzing away from Strictly has led to frenzied speculation about What Next for the two women. Actually no, the speculation is all about what's next for just one of the women - Claudia. There's talk she's going to be the next Wogan, that there's more Traitors in the pipeline and so much more. But no-one's talking about where Tess Daly is going - apart from "to spend more time with my family". And maybe that's because Tess was always the drop-dead gorgeous glamour puss of the show while Claudia, with her fantastically warm and kooky personality, was always its heart. Claudia has pzzazz coming out of her well-hidden earholes. She oozes personality, wit, spontaneity and could turn her hand to any show.

Tess is beautiful and looks wonderful in sparkly dresses but I doubt she could hold down a show on her own. So all the talk about them having made the decision to leave Strictly together doesn't ring true. The fact is Claudia is the star of Strictly and every other show she does. Which actually gives me hope. Because - and she won't mind me saying this because she's also humble - she's attractive, but no great beauty, and she's never had to trade on her looks. It's always been her personality and her ability to connect with people that's landed her TV jobs. That said, I wish both of them all the luck in the world.

In an interview for Glamour magazine, Demi Moore, 62, says she's not retiring because she wants to emulate Helen Mirren: "She's in her 80s and look how dynamic she is. It says to me, Oh we've still got a lot to do."

Bless! Someone needs to tell Demi even if she lived another 50 years she's never going to get close to doing what Dame Helen has done because there are actresses, great actresses and there are legends.

Dame Helen is in the latter category, Demi's in the former.

I keep reading the £76M jewellery heist from the Louvre was a daring, brazen, incredibly well-planned operation that required cunning and skill.

No it wasn't. The thieves stole a giant cherry picker a few days before, dressed up in high viz construction jackets pretending to be builders, put the ladder against the wall in broad daylight and just climbed through an open window. It was hardly Ocean's 11.

I reckon me and a couple of my sixty-something girlfriends could have pulled it off.

Loose Women's Kaye Adams has been suspended from her BBC Radio Scotland radio show amid claims she screamed at junior staff (soppy Gen Zedders to whom she probably raised an irritated eyebrow).

But what about the BBC's towering hypocrisy here? Naga Munchetty remains on air at BBC Breakfast amid a whole slew of horrific bullying claims. And Kaye has been suspended.

So, look at these two women and ask yourself why Naga is still on air and Kaye isn't.

The answer's pretty obvious...

Robert Jenrick has been castigated for suggesting Britain bans the Burka. Why? Of course we should ban it. This is a free country where women are equal and no woman should be forced to walk around swathed in black robes with cages on their faces and just slits from which they can peer out onto the world.

This is female oppression pure and simple enforced by men who want to keep women subjugated. They've already banned it in countries like Denmark, France, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and Norway and it's time we did it here.

We cannot allow women's hard-won freedoms to be eroded by a bunch of Muslim blokes telling us it's the word of Allah because it isn't. And if these blokes insist it's a symbol of religious devotion - why don't they wear it?

Waitrose bosses need to right a terrible wrong. Four years ago their Cheadle Hulme store took on a severely autistic young man called Tom Boyd on a work experience scheme. Since then Tom has worked 600 hours for free stacking shelves and when his Mum finally asked if he might be paid for some of his hard work in recognition of "the time, effort and heart" he'd given the company, Tom was given his marching orders.

Waitrose needs to step up here. If Tom's condition meant he was able to competently do 600 hours of unpaid work, it means he can continue to do that same work but with a decent salary. He's more than earned the right!

Meghan's just lost her TENTH publicist in five years. Dear God how horrible does a person have to be to lose that many people?

A source says: "She marches around like a dictator in high heels. I've seen her reduce grown men to tears."

I was going to say Poor Harry - but I reckon he's getting exactly what he deserves.
