Dyson rivals Shark as autumn sale cuts up to £500 off vacuum cleaners

Dyson has kicked off an autumn sale by slashing hundreds off its vacuum cleaners. The brand's Dyson Week sale has seen 'exclusive savings' across its range with discounts up to £500.

One of the standout deals is with the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Absolute, now £120 off at £379.99 (was £499.99). This model is touted as the brand's 'most powerful' and lightweight cordless, with automatic hair de-tangling, dust detection and up to 60 minutes of battery life.

It also comes with a 'Fluffy Optic' cleaner head that illuminates fine dust and dirt, with a HEPA filter that's said to trap 99.97% of microscopic particles and allergens, according to Dyson. The V12 also has a 0.35L dustbin's hygienic ejection mechanism that empties captured dirt in one action.

Also in the sale is the Dyson V8 Advanced, now £100 off at £229.99 (was £329.99). This upgraded V8 is said to deliver 10% more suction compared to previous models and is designed to clean both hard and soft floors.

It features two power modes that can be easily switched when needing extra suction, as well as hair de-tangling and a sealed filtration system. However, the V8 has a shorter 40-minute runtime compared to the V12's 60 minutes.

The biggest saving can be had with the Dyson 360 Vis Nav Robot Vacuum Cleaner, now £500 off at £699.99 (was £1,199.99). This model is touted as being 'the most powerful robot vacuum', delivering six times the suction of any other model, according to Dyson.

It's an ideal time-saving device as it cleans automatically with 360° vision to analyse, map and navigate the home. It can also be controlled, customised and scheduled with the MyDyson app.

More models in the Dyson Week sale include the Dyson Cyclone V10 Total Clean at £299.99 (was £449.99) and Dyson Ball Animal Complete at £329.99 (was £429.99). Elsewhere, there are some similar discounts available at Amazon, including the Dyson V8 Advanced at £228.24 (was £329.99) and Dyson Ball Animal at £229 (was £279.99).

It comes as Shark launches a rival autumn sale, with standout deals including the Classic Upright Cleaning Bundle, now £184.99 off at £254.99 (was £439.98). This includes anAnti Hair Wrap Upright Vacuum Cleaner andKlik n' Flip Automatic Steam Mop, while other price drops include the Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus at £249.99 (was £349.99).

But for shoppers sticking with Dyson, the V12 Detect Slim Absolute has earned a 4.6-star rating after more than 8,500 reviews, with one saying: "Perfectly balanced, lightweight, good manoeuverability with a great feature of a light when using the fluffy attachment. Love the filtration system plus the long battery life."

Another said: "Good purchase, very pleased with it so far. It's noticeably quieter than our previous model, runs very smoothly over carpets and hard floors and picks up a remarkable amount. Emptying is pretty easy."

However, the same buyer added: "My only concern is the plastic clip to empty the vacuum feels a little flimsy. I would recommend a soft brush to clean the dust from inside."

While another five-star review said: "This model is just right for me, not too heavy and does an amazing job. I love the hard floor attachment with the light as you can see all the mess and my carpets have never looked so good."
