Emmerdale spoilers have revealed Dylan Pinders (played by Fred Kettle) is left shivering in agony after being stabbed in the leg, but he refuses to see a doctor. Instead, his pal April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) sneaks him into the veterinary surgery.
A shocked Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) patches Dylan up, and after hearing the latter is still homeless, the caring vet offers him a room for the evening. Later on, drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom) tells Dylan about future work, and while Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) is occupied, he reveals a hidden bag of drugs from his backpack.
The following day, as Paddy and Mandy make breakfast, Dylan ignores the dealer's texts. Later on, Paddy, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) are left staggered to realise Dylan was the thug Kyle Wincester (Huey Quinn) stabbed. The men try to persuade Rhona not to tell Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) about the stabbing.
Meanwhile, after Dylan turns down Ray's illegal job offers, he's mortified to discover that Paddy and Marlon know what he did.
When he leaves the pub, Ray watches as Dylan and April walk through the village together. What does Ray have planned for Dylan, and could he be in grave danger?
Could Ray force Dylan to sell drugs for him? Will he threaten to kill Dylan if he refuses to take on the work?
Perhaps April's life is in danger too, as Ray now knows they are close?
It comes after Dylan actor Fred discussed his character's return with Marlon star Mark.
Addressing why his character felt the need to return to the Dales, Fred said: "I think it's got to be April. Absolutely. I think they formed such a deep connection. There's chemistry between them."
However, Fred also said his character was "unsure" if he had any romantic feelings towards April.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
