Five-star TV show is 'best crime series of the decade' and now streaming on Netflix

This iconic drama has been awarded the crown for "best crime series of the decade", and it is available on one of the streaming platforms. Branded a "masterpiece" by viewers, Breaking Bad is regarded by many as the greatest TV show around. The American neo-Western crime drama series was created and produced by Vince Gilligan, and set and filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, alongside Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, RJ Mitte, Betsy Brandt, Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks, and Bob Odenkirk.

The series synopsis reads: "Mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher Walter White thinks his life can't get much worse. His salary barely makes ends meet, a situation not likely to improve once his pregnant wife gives birth, and their teenage son is battling cerebral palsy. But Walter is dumbstruck when he learns he has terminal cancer. Realising that his illness probably will ruin his family financially, Walter makes a desperate bid to earn as much money as he can in the time he has left by turning an old RV into a meth lab on wheels."

Collider has ranked Breaking Bad at number one in its ranking of the Best Crime Shows of the 21st century (so far).

TimeOut also listed Breaking Bad as number one in its ranking of "The 100 best TV shows of all time you have to watch".

It said: "'You know the business, and I know the chemistry.' And so begins the unholiest of on-screen partnerships and, for our bag of non-sequential bills, the greatest TV show in the history of the medium.

"Terminally ill chemistry teacher Walter White (the revelatory Bryan Cranston) and druggy deadbeat Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul, its tragic soul) are creator Vince Gilligan's cooly calculating yin and sketchy, insecure yang as they slowly build a meth empire.

Many viewers have hailed Breaking Bad and it takes the award as the best TV series for many.

One reviewer said: "A masterpiece conclusion to arguably the greatest show of all time."

The series has received multiple five-star reviews from the critics, including The Times. On the season finale, it said: "Farewell, Walter White: chemistry teacher, drug lord and TV phenomenon. Here was a five-star finale to Vince Gilligan's tale."
