A former Great British Bake Off star has exposed one of Alison Hammond's annoying habits that often leaves Channel 4 editors screaming. The This Morning star joined the reality show back in 2023 after she took over from comedian and actor Matt Lucas. The 50-year-old broadcaster became an instant hit with fans, known for her bubbly personality and tender heart, in addition to being part of the previous Bake Off alumni.
But no presenter is perfect, and now 2024 contestant Nelly Ghaffar has revealed one of the broadcaster's most annoying habits on the long-running show. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she confessed: "Alison is constantly singing, which you can see a bit on camera, because she's just so fun and laughing.
"But there's a lot less singing on camera because they can't put that in [for copyright reasons]. She's constantly singing and just messing around, even more so when the cameras are off.
"So, I wouldn't say it was a bad habit, but probably a bit of a nightmare for the editors." Nelly isn't the only one who has fallen in love with the Brummy babe; beloved judge Prue Leith has also showered the presenter with love.
Prue gushed: "It's better than it's ever been, I think. It's really lovely. I think Alison has made a huge difference to the team; she's so funny. The bakers adore her, she's like a Big Mumma, you know?"
It comes after Nelly revealed to us which TV chef she believes could take over the 85-year-old restaurateur who stepped back from the charity series for the first time last year.
Nelly told us: "Oh, that's a difficult question, but I think Nigella Lawson. I'm a big fan of hers and she's bring a lot of glamour to the tent. You know, I don't really care what she's baking or cooking, I just want her to talk to me, and I'd fall in love.
"Even though Prue is wonderful and talented and brilliant, if she ever wanted to leave, I think Nigella would be a nice new twist. She'd bring something different to the Bake Off tent."
Although Leith was adamant in an interview on This Morning last year that she had not quit the programme for good, she admitted that she found it difficult to keep up with its challenging schedule.
She told the presenters: "These things are filmed back-to-back all the way through summer, from April to August, so you don't get any time off. I'm getting quite old and there are places I want to see. So, I'm not doing this year's celebrity edition."
