William Morris fans may already be familiar with Habitat's homeware collection in collaboration with Morris & Co, which features everything from cushions to armchairs adorned with the designer's iconic prints. The collaboration has been around for a while now, but it has been updated recently with a new autumnal collection in rich seasonal hues and prints.
One of my favourite things from the range is the bedding, not only because it is perfect for the cosy season, but also because it's a fraction of the price of the bedding available directly from Morris & Co.
I particularly like the Habitat x Morris & Co. duvet set printed in the William Morris Pimpernel design: a series of pimpernel flowers against a swirling background of pale foliage. It's also reversible, with a more neutral underside in the simpler Willow Boughs print. Each set comes with a duvet cover and two pillowcases (one for a single) with a selvedge edge adorned with Morris & Co.'s logo.
The Pimpernel set could work for all seasons, as its gentle colour palette works for most interiors, but as part of Habitat's latest collection, it has gotten an autumnal makeover. Although it doesn't feature the selvedge edge, it's printed in the same pattern in deeper greens, pinks, and blues. It's also reversible, with an all-green underside.
Retailing for £48 for a double, the set effectively costs half the price of similar ones sold directly by Morris & Co., with three more sizes to choose from: a single costs £40, while a king will set you back £54 and a super king £50.
Just to compare, a double duvet set inthe Trent print currently retails for £95 at Morris & Co.'s website, while a king goes for £115 and a super king for £130.
The Habitat bedding is also made from 100% 180-thread cotton.
Fans online praised the bedding set for its pattern and quality, with one saying: "Great design, good quality, washes well and very nice to wrap yourself in, soft touch. Overall, it's a well made product."
Another said: "Superb quality and excellent value for money."
"Love this. Fantastic quality. Beautifully finished." wrote another. "Feels great to sleep under. And pure cotton too. Very tempted to get another."
Another happy customer said the set had "lovely finishing touches" adding that the "material is very soft, and gorgeous design."
