Multiple passengers have been stabbed in a horror attack on a train, with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer saying he is "deeply concerned" by the "appalling incident". Two suspects have been arrested after the shocking incident on a train to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on Saturday evening.
The British Transport Police confirmed officers were in attendance, along with police from Cambridgeshire. The East of England Ambulance Service said it was called at 7.39pm. Reacting to the news, Sir Keir said: "The appalling incident on a train near Huntingdon is deeply concerning. My thoughts are with all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services for their response. Anyone in the area should follow the advice of the police."
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood added that she was receiving regular updates on developments and urged people to avoid speculating about what had happened.
"I am deeply saddened to hear about the stabbings in Huntingdon," she said. "My thoughts go out to all those affected."
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch also said she was "deeply disturbed" by the "appalling attack".
Trains running between Stevenage and Peterborough, including services running from London Kings Cross, have been heavily delayed while police deal with the incident.
