ITV Coronation Street viewers 'switch off' as the blast 'predictable' storyline

Send Push

Coronation Street viewers took to social media to rant about the latest episode on Monday, September 22, as they threatened to "switch off" the long-running ITV soap. As Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) supported his boyfriend, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), in his custody hearing against his estranged wife, fans were not impressed. As Todd found himself thrown out of court when he lost his temper with Noah Hedley (Richard Winsor) they flooded to X to complain.

"So predictable, so boring and so s*** #corrie over the TV goes," one penned, indicating they were switching off. "Ffs, how much more can one take? John on #Emmerdale and Noah on #Corrie, which is the worst?" Another frustrated viewer added alongside a GIF of someone taking a TV off the wall, indicating they were switching off. A third chimed in: "Do we care enough about Theo or his kids to warrant this whole court setting? I don't think so! #corrie."

A fourth penned: " Every other episode we're gonna get the Todd & Theo thing blah blah look just FFWD to Xmas where Theo kills Billy & that's the end of that" followed by the yawn emoji.

A fifth complained: " Who writes this utter crap? Theo is up there with Izzy as one of the worst characters ever to walkthrough cobbles."

However others did enjoy the epiasode - albeit a different storyline. "For the first time in ages #Corrie made me laugh tonight - Evelyn suggesting you can tell Ryan's a Capricorn because he looks like a goat."

Despite Todd's outburst in court Theo was delighted when he managed to secure shared custody of his children.
