Concerns are growing over the welfare of Katie Price's animals after the former glamour model revealed she was forced to rush her four sphynx kittens to an emergency veterinary clinic.

The 47-year-old star told fans on Snapchat that the tiny cats, born last month to her pet Doris, had suddenly become "limp and unwell" despite repeated vet visits and round-the-clock bottle feeding.

Tragically, one kitten died shortly after birth, marking the eighth pet to pass away under Price's care. The mounting losses have fuelled public outrage, with more than 36,000 people signing a petition calling for her to be banned from owning animals. Campaign group PETA even offered her £5,000 if she signed a legally binding agreement promising never to acquire another pet.

But Price has continued to add to her menagerie, most recently showing off the new kittens on social media. She and her boyfriend, JJ Slater, claimed they were feeding them every three hours, even taking them on tour during her stage show An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona.

"JJ had to rush them to the emergency vets," she told followers on Tuesday. "It's not looking good. Fingers crossed, they are like our babies. We're just gutted at the minute."

The kittens were kept in overnight for treatment, while Doris' condition has since improved following antibiotics for an infection. Price admitted she barely slept as vets called her three times during the night with updates.

"Good morning, didn't have a very good sleep last night at all," she said in a shaky Snapchat clip. "The vets ringing us three times in the night. I'll give you an update on the kittens again, just not in the right frame of mind. But Doris is alright."

Katie, who also recently introduced a cocker spaniel named Rookie to her family, has always been an avid animal lover and has owned several pets over the years. However, her treatment of animals has come under scrutiny after five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon all died while in her care - many of them in traffic accidents near her home in Sussex.

Katie attributes these tragedies to "bad luck", with most occurring while she was away. She has since secured the garden of her new home to ensure her pets' safety. Responding to people who say she shouldn't own animals, Katie told The Sun: "When people say I shouldn't have animals, it's circumstances that were out of my hands.

"It's no lack of me not looking after them or anything like that. I love animals, I love nurturing."
