Liverpool to sign ex-Newcastle star in surprise move to dodge Premier League problem

Liverpool are reportedly set to sign Preston North End's Freddie Woodman as they continue to shake up their ranks. The Reds are in the heart of a major spending spree, with Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz already joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen.

Further marquee additions appear to be in the pipeline as well, with Arne Slot hoping to revamp his frontline with the signing of a new striker to replace Darwin Nunez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli.
