Louvre robbery: Shocking moment thief in hi-vis breaks into cabinet in 7-minute raid

A gang of "highly organised criminals" have broken into the Louvre using chainsaws and made off with millions of pounds worth of jewellery once belonging to Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte. It's reported crooks were in such a hurry they dropped the priceless Eugénie Crown as they fled the world famous museum in Paris just after 9.30am this morning (Sunday, October 19).

Rachida Dati, France's Culture Minister, said a criminal enquiry has been launched and detectives were liaising with museum staff.
According to Ms Dati, nobody was hurt during the raids, while a Louvre spokesman confirmed the museum was shut "for exceptional reasons." Footage broadcast on French TV shows the moment one of the brazen thieves breaks into one of the museum's display cases.
