McDonald's unveils new menu with big change to the Big Mac burger

McDonald's is shaking up its menu once more, introducing a new sausage sandwich across all UK branches today. The fast-food giant frequently tweaks its line-up to keep prices sharp and options fresh, with saver picks and seasonal treats rotating in and out. Today's refresh lands the same day Monopoly returns to restaurants, giving breakfast-goers another low-cost pick as they peel to win.

The new morning bite features a pork patty with melted cheese, finished with either ketchup or brown sauce. McDonald's customers can bundle it with a selected drink for £2.99. It's available only during breakfast hours, so you'll need to visit your local Maccies before 11am. The sandwich takes its place on the Saver Menu alongside hash browns (£1.59), porridge pots (£1.69), and a cheesy bacon flatbread (£1.99), to name a few.

In other breakfast news, the Breakfast Wrap will be included in the annual McDonald's Monopoly promotion, which returns from September 10 to October 21.

To celebrate the new additions and the game's comeback, several favourites are returning to menus, including mozzarella dippers, the Philly Cheese Stack and a reimagined Big Mac burger.

Made with two chicken patties instead of 100% beef, the Chicken Big Mac is completed with a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles, and the iconic Big Mac sauce.

For dessert, there's a brand-new loaded caramel McFlurry and a Honeycomb Latte. But a couple of items are being removed during the promotion, with Sprite Zero with syrup and the Jaffa Cakes McFlurry now unavailable on UK menus.

To celebrate the launch, McDonald's unveiled a striking Red Hotel and offered free fries, McCafe products, and merchandise to passerby at London King's Cross Station.

McDonald's is going on tour and will be in Manchester, Birmingham, and Cardiff. In the coming weeks, it will give away even more free Monopoly products and cash rewards.

To take part in McDonald's Monopoly, collect stickers from selected packaging and complete colour sets or train stations just like the classic board game, with a digital peel offering extra instant wins.
