Meghan Markle has given fans a sneak peek of the upcoming second season of her Netflix show, but not everyone was thrilled with what they saw.
The trailer for With Love, Meghan arrived last week. It shows off some of the recipes that she'll be walking viewers through in series two next week.
In anticipation of the new series, Meghan posted a photo on Instagram of crisps frying in a pan. Alongside the image, she wrote: "New season of With Love, Meghan August 26 on @netflix."
She added: "Dare I say, 'It's all that... and a bag of chips.'" This quip is a nod to Will Smith's famous catchphrase from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
However, some viewers were less than impressed with the recipe, taking to social media to criticise the crisps' appearance. "Again, everything is beige and bland," one viewer commented.
"No emotional or personal stories to connect her to her recipes/products. Not even, 'Archie's favourite X' or 'had this first time I met the Queen'....Everything feels random and soulless!"
Another viewer chimed in: "Omg! This is gross. The skins look a bit green, and that can make one's stomach sick. Maybe she should do her research if she is frying this slop up. Her marketing is by far the worst I've ever seen."
Meanwhile, a third person wrote: "Is she frying up potato chips? Normal people don't make their own chips, but whatever. I don't want to watch someone doing this on a show."
"It's so pale and anaemic! Some things SHOULDN'T be beige!!" a fourth viewer exclaimed.
The preview for With Love, Meghan was released last week, showcasing some of the recipes she'll be demonstrating in season two. "I love the idea of spending time together and finding new ways to show people you care," she expresses in the clip.
In the upcoming series, viewers can anticipate appearances from Queer Eye's Tan France, model Chrissy Teigen, and other friends of Meghan.
Earlier this week, a fashion expert suggested that Meghan is subtly communicating her Royal status to the Firm through her daring wardrobe selections in the trailer.
California-based personal stylist, Cynthia Kennedy, stated that Meghan's fashion in season two sends a clear signal that she no longer needs to conform to a specific dress code associated with her Duchess role.
"Her revamped style is sending everyone a message that I don't have to dress like a duchess anymore. I get to dress like myself, and be more approachable, modern, authentic, and real."
