Meghan Markle's latest "elevated" breakfast recipe did not sit well with royal fans.
The Duchess of Sussex took to her brand's official Instagram account on Monday evening to post a new "elevated" breakfast recipe, featuring a staple found in many of our kitchens - eggs - and a product from her own range - the crepe mix. In pictures posted on the account and a video on the brand's stories, two savoury crepes appear to be folded around fried eggs and topped with baby tomatoes and chopped basil. She said people could use the two ingredients - eggs and her crepe mix - plus any vegetables they could find in their fridge for what she christened the "favourite breakfast 'sandwich'."
A clear, margarita glass could also be seen, filled with a light coloured drink.

Meghan captioned the post: "Crepe inspo with a savory(sic) twist! As ever Crepe Mix, a fried egg + any veggies in your fridge = a fun and elevated take on your favorite breakfast 'sandwhich'."
In a video uploaded on the brand's Instagram stories, Meghan was seen assembling her "breakfast sandwich" by first using shredded cheese in the middle, before adding what appeared to be wilted spinach and then the friend egg on top.
She then folded the crepe around the sides, and for garnish, she used chopped baby tomatoes and basil.
As Ever's crepe mix, now sold out online, is said to be inspired by the delicate crepes found in Parisian cafés.
The brand says the mix, which retails at £11 ($14) "brings a touch of everyday elegance into your home".
But fans were not impressed with her "elevated" twist on the breakfast staple and went online to express their views.
One user wrote on X: "What a load of crepe..."
Another one joked sarcastically: "It's not just food-it's a quiet rebellion against boring routines."
A third one commented: "And posting about drinking wine at breakfast isn't helping."
Meanwhile, Express readers did not appear to be keen on trying Meghan's new recipe either.
One reader commented on the original story: "Crepe mix at £11, and 'something we reach for again and again and it's made to turn morning into something special,' - What, really MM - it is so hilarious in relation to the normal mum's morning routine, which is simply a mad scramble to get everyone fed and watered and out the door on time."
A second one blasted: "The only thing Meghan wants to elevate is herself and she is wasting her time. No one is interested."
A third one said: "How specifically is that 'elevated'? The truth is it's not."
Another one wrote: "Really think it means by using the word elevated... that she is 'getting' above herself....!!!"
