A helicopter has crashed into a barge on the Mississippi River in the US, leaving two people dead. Pictures showed smoke billowing from the ship. The crash occurred near the 200-mile marker on the river in St Charles County, Missouri and Alton, Illinois. The Alton Fire Department confirmed at least two people have died in the crash.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the helicopter involved in the crash was installing marker balls on power lines near the river's 200-mile marker before it collided with a barge and erupted into flames.
