For me, Halloween always feels like it marks the end of autumn and from November 1, it's perfectly acceptable to embrace all things Christmas. While you might think it's a tad too soon to put your tree up and start singing carols, it might be a good time to beat the crowds and get your festive jumper with plenty of time.
Marks & Spencer has started to drop its Christmas jumper range, and I especially like this embellished slogan crew neck jumper. It's just enough to give a nod to the season without being garish or too in-your-face. The jumper has the word 'Jingle' written in candy-cane sequins across the front, which is super fun.
But what I love most about the jumpers is their subtle charcoal colour, which makes the red and white motif really pop. Priced at £30, it's an affordable way to get in the Christmas season without going over the top, and according to the M&S website, it's selling quickly, with more than 70 shoppers snapping it up in the last five days.
The jumper features a regular fit and is crafted from yarn with a touch of wool for added warmth, combined with stretch for enhanced comfort. It has a ribbed crew neckline, cuffs and hem and is machine washable at 40C.
The seasonal sweater is available in sizes extra small to extra large, which corresponds to UK sizes 6 to 22, and according to shopper reviews, it's true to size.
As it's part of the brand-new collection, it only has one review so far (a five-star one, no less). The happy shopper wrote: "Lovely cosy Christmas jumper. I'm a size 8, and small was perfect."
However, shoppers should take care when washing the jumper due to its sequin design. In my experience, items like this can be tricky to wash in the machine, and sequins sometimes fall off, so it's always safest to protect your garment while washing. I find that turning my sequined garments inside out does the trick, though you could also wash them in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase to protect them.
