Piers Morgan has been openly critical of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry since the couple stepped down from their royal duties five years ago. The Uncensored host, 60, has recently been doing the rounds amid the release of his new book, Woke Is Dead: How Common Sense Triumphed in an Age of Total Madness, a follow-up to his 2020 release. But in a surprising move, the former Good Morning Britain presenter has dedicated a chapter to the royals, including the Sussexes.

Speaking on the Daily T podcast with host Camilla Tominey, Piers claimed to "have less and less interest" in the Sussexes. The quizzical host probed, "But they do feature in a chapter in the book? There is a royal chapter." The Uncensored broadcaster attempted to clarify his position by explaining the reasoning behind featuring Harry and Meghan.

"It's about the royals generally," he explained. "But also, to me, what they represent is the epitome of the worst aspects of wokeism, virtue-signaling, the victimhood."

He went on to suggest the Sussexes tend to "blame other people", as he branded it "rank hypocrisy".

Piers went on: "Preaching about private jets and preaching about the environment."

He dubbed it "wokeism", before adding the pair have "become increasingly less relevant".

While a recent poll suggested Meghan and Harry's popularity has plummeted since leaving the Royal Family, the couple have continued to dominate headlines.

Most recently with Meghan's debut at Paris Fashion Week.

Earlier this month, Harry and Meghan were named as "Humanitarians of the Year" at a ceremony in New York City on Thursday (9 October), where they also spoke about the dangers of social media.

The royals were recognised for their work at the third annual World Mental Health Day Gala, hosted by Project Healthy Minds.
