Prince Harry's friends reportedly shared their own brutal verdict of his then-new-girlfriend Meghan Markle. Soon after Meghan was revealed to the world as Harry's girlfriend she was invited along to one of his shooting weekends at Sandringham.
Harry met Meghan during the summer of 2016, with them meeting to marrying occurring in the space of less than two years. According to author Tom Bowers' book 'Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors', Harry's friends were shocked by Meghan's behaviour after meeting her for the first time.
Mr Bower claims that Meghan, 44, challenged guests who made comments that didn't live up to her "wokery".
The friends' brutal analysis of Meghan didn't end there - and Mr Bower said texts between the guests were fired between them as they left.
The author claimed that one five-word text said "Harry must be f*****g nuts", whilst another said, "she's a total nightmare".
The couple later went on to become engaged in November 2017, before tying the knot in Windsor just six months later.
Just one year after their wedding day, Meghan and Harry welcomed their first child, a son named Prince Archie, in May 2019.
Following their departure from the royal duties in early 2020, the couple have since relocated to California - where they now live with Prince Archie and his little sister, Princess Lilibet.
Since Mr Bowers' comments, Alex Rayner - who has been friends with Harry for over a decade - recently came to Meghan's defence.
Speaking to the Mail about Meghan's Netflix series, he said that Britons are "too cynical". He then added: "I'd argue it's made for the American market, maybe a little bit more than for us. We're a little bit more cynical. For us, we're about old Mrs Miggins over the Aga doing her marmalade. Whereas, in America, they're a little bit more classy about it. They want a bit more."
