Reading College stabbing LIVE: Lockdown as police swarm building after 'knife attack'

Police have locked down Reading College after reports of a stabbing resulting in a boy being injured on Thursday. A police helicopter is reportedly circling above the campus, as per the Reading Chronicle, while officers remain on scene. Early reports on social media have claimed that a person has been stabbed "either inside the college or just outside the premises". Thames Valley police confirmed the incident to the Daily Star.

A spokesperson said: "We are aware of an assault with injury in Kings Road, Reading. A boy has sustained injuries and is receiving medical treatment. Search activity is ongoing, supported by armed officers, and a visible police presence remains. We advise members of the public to avoid the area at this time while officers work swiftly to resolve the situation. We will provide an update when we are in a position to do so."
