Ricky Hatton's rocky dating history - from Claire Sweeney to Playboy model

Former boxing world champion Ricky Hatton, also known as The Hitman, has died at the age of 46. During his successful career, Ricky won several world championships, notably in the light-welterweight division and one at welterweight. The police confirmed today that he was found dead at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester. Away from the boxing ring, the British sportsman experienced quite a rocky love life. His most recent relationship before his death was with soap star Claire Sweeney. However, she wasn't the only person who was charmed by the iconic boxer over the years.

Chelsea Claire

Before appearing on ITV's Dancing on Ice, Ricky dated Playboy model Chelsea Claire, who was 14 years younger than him. Their romance began in the summer of 2023, but it was short-lived. According to The Mirror, work commitments put a strain on their romance.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Ricky and Chelsea had a great time together, but it ended up being more of a fling. They are at very different stages of their lives, and Ricky is really throwing himself into training and wants to concentrate on that. Things are still really amicable, and they will be friends going forward."

Angela Blemmings

Ricky and Angela's romance lasted a year before things fizzled out. The pair began dating in July 2022 before they made their relationship public during a romantic getaway to Dublin.

Marie Pollard

Marie and Ricky were reportedly an item in 2016. Although their romance ended briefly, five years later, they rekindled things. In 2021, they shared pictures from a holiday together in Croatia.

Jennifer Dooley

Ricky Hatton was previously engaged to Jennifer Dooley, and the pair had children together. Prior to dating Jennifer, the boxer was already a father to son Campbell Hatton with former partner Claire.

Ricky and Jennifer are parents to daughters Millie and Fearne, and the pair got engaged in 2009. However, they separated in 2013, with the boxer leaving their £3million family home, though they reconciled a year later.

He commented at the time: "Me and Jennifer are working through our difficulties. We are no different to anybody else except my life is under the spotlight because of who I am."

Sadly, the relationship came to an end for good in 2016 after Ricky was reportedly photographed looking worse for wear whilst partying with other women.

Claire Sweeney

Soap actress Claire met Ricky during rehearsals for Dancing on Ice and were reportedly inseparable since. A source told the Mirror at the time: "The chemistry was electric. Ricky went out of the show early on but he contacted her afterwards and let's say he started wooing her. They've been out on several dates."

Sadly, the romance didn't last forever, and it was reported that the pair ended things in December 2024, but remained good friends.
