Former professional footballer and football manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has revealed his daughter Mia has had a starring role in the West End. Speaking on the Strictly Come Dancing launch show he told hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly the 18-year-old had played little Tina Turner in hit show Tina the Musical. It tells the story of the life of music icon Tina Turner and features a wealth of the star's hit songs,
The 53-year-old father of five confessed he was doing the show as his daughters were huge fans and they showed a clip of three of his daughters watching the show 12 years earlier before cutting to them in the audience. He admitted they are all dancers, adding: "Mia, the 18-year-old, she used to be little Tina Turner in the West End, and my Lauren has just started at the Dance School last Monday. So yeah, I'm very proud."
Jimmy, who was the fourth contestant to be announced for this year's show, will be dancing with Lauren Oakely in this year's competition as revealed on the launch show which aired on Saturday September 20 having been pre-recorded on September 10.
Following the reveal, Lauren admitted she is a huge Chelsea supporter and her family had informed her Jimmy scored against her team five times in his career. This led him to quip: "Only five!"
Lauren, 34, only joined Strictly as a professional dancer in 2022 for the twentieth series. For her first year, she performed in group routines, but in 2023, she was paired with Channel 4 newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy. In the 2024 show, she was drafted in to partner with JB Gill when his pro Amy Dowden was forced to withdraw with a foot injury.
The other celebrities were also paired with their pro partners on tonights launch show. Former Emmerdale star Lewis Cope. Who played Nicky Miligan in the long-running ITV soap, has been paired with Katya Jones. Britain's Got Talent and RuPaul's Drag Race UK star La Voix is in the capable hands of Aljaz Škorjanec. Love Island winner Dani Dyer was thrilled to learn she will be paired with Nikita Kuzmin for the contest.

Ross King, who is well known to daytime TV viewers as the LA correspondent for both Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, learned his partner will be Jowita Przystal. Former England rugby union player and captain Chris Robshaw will be dancing with Nadiya Bychkova in this year's competition.
British Vogue cover star Ellie Goldstein was delighted to learn her pro partner would be Vito Copolla, who is no stranger to lifting the glitterball after winning the show in 2023. Lioness turned football pundit Karen Carney has been teamed with Carlos Gu. Doctor Who and ER legend Alex Kingston, 62, couldn't hide her excitement when she was told she was being paired with Johannes Radebe, 38.
Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has been teamed with Kai Widdrington. Eastenders icon Balvinder Sopal has been paired with Australian dancer Julian Caillon who is one of two new pros for the 2025 series. Gladiators legend Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, who is better known as Nitro, has been paired with Strictly veteran Karen Hauer.
Neighbours icon Stefan Dennishas been paired with last year's winner, fellow Aussie Dianne Buswell. Former professional footballer and football manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be dancing with Lauren Oakely in this year's competition. Meanwhile, YouTuber, podcaster, and social media star George Clarke will be dancing with Alexias Warr, who is the second of two new pros on the show this year.
