Dianne Buswell has been supported after sharing messages that she had received about her pregnancy while competing on the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC ballroom dancer has been proudly showing off her bump after sharing that she is expecting to welcome a little boy with partner Joe Sugg in 2026.

While most people have been excited for her and her wonderful news, others have sadly used it as an opportunity to criticise her. It was confirmed that Dianne would still be going ahead with the competition with celebrity dance partner Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis - with the pair declaring themselves as the "Australian dream team" and her making history as the first ever pregnant competitor. However, not all fans were impressed and some have suggested that she should drop out of the show due to being with child. The 36-year-old mum-to-be shared an update to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday evening where she showed one of the many negative comments that she had received.

It read: "I don't want to see her dance being pregnant, it's already feeling uncomfortable and she's only starting to show. It's not appropriate." Dianne commented on the post, as she fumed: "I can't believe in 2025 things like this are still being said."

In her next Story, the professional dancer shared a comment from one of her Instagram followers, who supported the star and hit back at the troll.

They said that Dianne dancing while pregnant was "nothing short of beautiful and magical". They added that she is "inspirational and incredible," as she reshared the post adding some love heart emojis.

The 36-year-old Australian pro confirmed earlier this month that she and YouTuber Joe Sugg are expecting their first child together. Since then, her supporters have been quick to raise questions about whether she should continue performing some of the show's more demanding lifts.

Speaking to comedian Chris McCausland on his Winning Isn't Everything podcast, Dianne explained exactly what her doctor had told her following her pregnancy announcement.

She said: "Because we did quite a lot of lifts that were quite high impact. Well, look, I'm still doing everything that I did before. Obviously, with lifts, there's just going to be a bit more caution.

"But my doctor said that everything is normal. He said, basically, if you've done it before, like in terms of you're a dancer, you've done lifts, you've done this, you've done that, then crack on and keep doing what you were doing.

"He said, because you've danced since you were five, literally, this is what your body's meant to do. He said, you shouldn't stop what you do. So obviously, with lifts, you just do it with caution."
