Moving from London can be tricky as there seems to be a wide range of different villages on offer. One quiet area in Buckinghamshire that is seemingly under the radar has been home to multiple famous people, so it's seemingly a favourite with royals and sports stars alike. If all of this sounds like a dream to you, then maybe the village of Iver could be your future home. With just a 23-minute commute to Paddington Station on the Elizabeth Line, you won't have to worry about a lengthy journey into work every day. It's known for its quiet and leafy atmosphere, but it's anything but boring. It's also home to the famous Pinewood Film Studios, with films such as James Bond and Superman shooting scenes there.
The studios even have their own cinema, where you can watch weekend screenings of the best blockbusters. It's perfect for movie lovers, and you can even hire out the whole event if you want a private function.
Iver is also known for being filled with celebrities. This might come as a surprise, but Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and Prince Michael of Kent both lived in the village, as well as Princess Victoria, daughter of Edward VII.
British former sprinter Linford Christie OBE is the only British man to have won gold medals in the 100 metres at all four major competitions open to British athletes, and he also grew up there.
It is also believed that former England goalkeeper David Seaman and sculptor Brian Muir lived in Iver. According to MyLondon, houses in the Buckinghamshire village cost around £100,000 less than in London.
Aside from Pinewood Studios, Iver also boasts the gorgeous Langley Park, which has amazing views of Windsor Castle. The gardens also have a Rhododendron collection in their Temple Gardens, which is meant to be a highlight.
Langley Tea Rooms is also the perfect pit-stop after you've had a walk about, and they serve cold drinks and plenty of snacks. There is also a play area for little ones.
You can catch the Elizabeth line in the direction of Abbey Wood, getting off at Iver station.
