Indian Naval Ships INS Delhi, INS Shakti, and INS Kiltan, under the command of Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), arrived in Manila, Philippines, as part of the Indian Navy’s ongoing operational deployment to Southeast Asia.
The Indian ships were warmly welcomed by the Philippine Navy, reflecting the deepening maritime partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries. This port visit underscores India’s expanding engagement and strong commitment to promoting regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
Upon arrival, Rear Admiral Menon addressed local media, affirming the mutual resolve of India and the Philippines to maintain maritime stability and security. He stressed the significance of such deployments in fostering trust, operational coordination, and enhanced understanding among partner navies.
During the port call, several activities are planned, including operational discussions, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), cross-deck visits, and professional and cultural interactions to promote mutual learning and naval interoperability.
The visit will culminate in a bilateral maritime exercise, focusing on coordinated manoeuvres, communication drills, and joint operations—further strengthening the naval synergy and shared commitment to peace and maritime cooperation in the region.
