Bhopal/Jabalpur: The MP high court has sought a reply from the MP Power Transmission Company on a plea alleging that OBC candidates were denied relaxation in eligibility marks for recruitment, unlike other reserved categories.
Saurabh Lodhi from Tikamgarh, in his petition, said MP Power Transmission Company Ltd had advertised several posts for recruitment on June 24. The posts advertised include 42 posts of assistant engineers, 114 posts of junior engineers, 10 posts of junior engineers (civil), 20 posts of lineman, 158 posts of deputy centre operator, 8 posts of surveyors and 1 post of legal officer.
The petitioner said 65 per cent marks in graduation was the minimum qualification for the posts.
He argued that while SC/ST/OBC candidates were given 10 per cent relaxation in minimum marks criteria, but for OBC candidates it was kept at partwith general candidates i.e. 65 per cent.
During the hearing of the petition, the company requested the court to grant some time to produce a copy of the advertisement as notified in the gazette. A bench of justice MS Bhatti, while granting a week to the company to present an affidavit in the matter, fixed Aug 25 as the next date of hearing.
