Devin Booker has been with the Phoenix Suns since he was drafted back in 2015 by the franchise as their 13th overall pick. He has been the biggest star for the Suns, becoming their all-time leading scorer at just 28 years of age. There were some tough times, some good ones, but he has been through it all with the franchise that gave him the chance to realize his NBA dreams. And he is not going to leave them after a decade-long relationship, not without bringing a ring to the city he loves so much.
Devin Booker has no plans of leaving Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker was the biggest reason behind the Phoenix Suns reaching the NBA Finals back in 2021, even though they ultimately lost the championship to the Milwaukee Bucks 4-2. But no one can deny that Booker was a big part of the success the Suns had that season. And even though the team hasn't been at its best in the last couple of seasons, Booker has not lost his faith in his team, and is looking to work towards a successful campaign during the upcoming season.
He wants to bring a championship back to the city that has believed in him all through his career. The last season had been disappointing, especially with big name stars like Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in the team, but he is ready to change it for the fans who have backed him up since he was a teenager. Being the face of the franchise, he wants nothing more than to bring glory to his city and his team.
Devin Booker speaks on why Phoenix Suns last season experiment failed
Going into the 2024-25 season , the Phoenix Suns looked like a strong team, capable of taking on opponents like the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately, even with stars like Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in the roster, and having Devin Booker work his behind off to move the team forward, they were unsuccessful.
“I don’t think there was any hatred in our last group. I just think when you are all on a different plan and don’t have the same common goal or same objective. Then that’s what it turns into.”
And according to Booker, it was all because the players, though excellent on their own, did not get together as a team with a common goal. Playing for themselves, they led the team to a disappointing finish. Hopefully, with a brand new roster this season, Booker and his teammates can change the future of the Suns in the upcoming season.
