NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday was seen offering glasses of water to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad during an event in Bihar. Both leaders are senior to him in age.
The three were sharing the stage in Sasaram at the launch of the ' Voter Adhikar Yatra ', a campaign that will travel more than 1,000 km across 25 districts of the state in two weeks.
A video from the programme has been widely shared on social media. In it, Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, is seen pouring water into glasses and handing them to Kharge and Prasad before drinking some himself.
Gandhi, who represents Raebareli in Parliament, was scheduled to be the last speaker at the event, a position usually given to the most senior leader as per informal practice at public meetings.
However, he spoke before Kharge and Prasad, even though he is considered the main draw of the yatra.
