Two police officers have been shot and killed, and a third injured, following a shooting incident in northeast Victoria , Australia, local media reported.
According to The Herald Sun, the suspected gunman is believed to have fled into nearby bushland and is reportedly accompanied by his wife and two children.
The injured officer sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. It has also been reported that one of the officers' firearms was stolen during the incident.
Victoria Police released a statement confirming the ongoing nature of the situation: "Victoria Police continues to respond to an incident at a property in Porepunkah. This is still an active incident and we will provide more information when it's operationally safe to do so. We ask people to avoid the area."
