A Promising Start for Kabir Nanda

Kabir Nanda is making waves with his debut film, Ghich Pich, a touching family drama. Originally from Ferozepur, he moved to Chandigarh at the age of 12, which he considers his launching pad. It was in this vibrant city that he auditioned for Ghich Pich and secured the lead role of Gurpreet Singh.

Exploring Generational Dynamics

Directed by Ankur Singla, Ghich Pich is set in 2001 and delves into the generational divides that many families experience. Kabir notes that this gap can feel insurmountable, akin to a mountain, and the film seeks to portray the unspoken tensions, conflicts, and bonds that characterize father-son relationships.

Overcoming On-Set Challenges

Reflecting on his time filming, Kabir recalls a particularly challenging climax scene where he had to express deep emotions through a simple smile, conveying remorse, acceptance, and personal growth. “It required numerous takes, but the final result was beautiful,” he shares.

His filming experience was not without its hurdles, including a day when all the footage was lost. Thankfully, it was recovered late that night, allowing the project to continue smoothly.

Gaining Recognition

Despite the obstacles, Kabir is thankful for the positive reception Ghich Pich has garnered at the ongoing Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, as well as at the Cinevesture International Film Festival in Chandigarh and in theaters. The accolades have been both uplifting and motivating for him. “It instills a constructive pressure to keep evolving, as the first step in building your foundation is crucial,” he reflects.

Looking to the Future

With upcoming projects like Kohrra Season 2 on Netflix and Dice Media’s Ikatthe, Kabir Nanda's career is just beginning to unfold.

Aspirations for Challenging Roles

While he enjoys portraying vibrant and relatable characters, Kabir expresses a desire to take on a more intense role in the future, one that will push his acting boundaries.

A Message to His Fans

Kabir shares a heartfelt message with his audience: “I want my work to demonstrate that ambition and dedication can lead you anywhere, regardless of your starting point. I am proud to be a Chandigarh boy and aim to make my city proud.”
