  • Right then, that’s all from this rain-hit and eventually abandoned 4th T20I. With this result, New Zealand ensure they can’t lose the series, holding a 2-1 lead with just one game to go. A disappointing outcome for the West Indies, who would’ve hoped to bounce back and take the series into a thrilling decider, but their focus now shifts to squaring things up and sharing the honours. The 5th and final T20I will be played at the University Oval in Dunedin on 13th November, Thursday, starting at 12.15 am GMT. As always, you can join us early for all the build-up and pre-match excitement. Until then, take care and goodbye!
  • Well, the unfortunate news is in - the match has been CALLED OFF due to rain. The two captains share handshakes in the middle, but this is far from the ending anyone hoped for. After three thrilling encounters in the series, fans were gearing up for another exciting contest, but sometimes, the weather has the final say. The rain gods have taken this one, with only 6.3 overs of play possible. West Indies were asked to bat first, but Alick Athanaze and Amir Jangoo found it tough to get going, and Athanaze fell to James Neesham shortly after play resumed from the first rain interruption. Unfortunately, the heavens opened up again soon after, and this time, there was no way back.
  • UPDATE - 2.50 am GMT - Well, scratch the last updates as it seems like the rain has arrived again and the resumption has been pushed further. Maybe the final nail in today's game. Who knows? Stay tuned for more updates.
  • UPDATE - 2.45 am GMT - GOOD NEWS! We are all set to resume at 2.50 am GMT! That's just five minutes from now on. Definitely we have lost a huge chunk of overs but we will confirm it in a few minutes...
  • UPDATE - 2.28 am GMT - The live visual shows the rain has completely stopped and the super soppers are in action. An inspection is taking place right now. Hopefully, with no more signs of rain, we could get some cricket after all. Stay tuned. Okay, the news is that there is going to be another inspection in the next 15 minutes. We will keep you posted. Hang around...
  • UPDATE - 1.45 am GMT - Nothing new from the ground. The weather forecast also does not look that promising, but we can always hope for better news. Looking at the time lost, it is likely that even if the game restarts, we will lose some overs. Also, if this game is washed out, West Indies can only level the series. However, we are still far away from that conclusion. Fingers crossed!
  • UPDATE - 1.21 am GMT - Oh..no! The on-field umpires reckon that the rain is heavy enough to call in for the covers again. This is very frustrating for the players and the fans, but Mitchell Santner sees the funny side of it and has a chat with the umpire while walking off. Hopefully, this is also a short delay like the first one. Stick with us for more news.

James Neesham to Alick Athanaze, OUT! TAKEN! James Neesham strikes in his first over! A break in play may have affected Alick Athanaze's focus, and he has to walk back for 21 off 18. This is a fuller one and on off, angling away, Alick backs away and looks to loft it down the ground, but his bat turns in his hand and he mistimes it. The ball goes high in the air over mid on, where Daryl Mitchell runs backwards, extends his arms, and takes a fine catch tumbling onto the ground. West Indies are 30/1!

James Neesham to Alick Athanaze, Excellent start from James Neesham! He bangs this one into the pitch, on off, takes off sharply off the deck. Alick Athanaze has a poke at it but the ball zips past the outisde edge.
  • END OF OVER 5 | 5 Runs & 0 Wkt | WI 30/0
  • Resumption! Still overcast but right now the rain has stopped completely. Importantly, no overs lost! The players are out in the middle. James Neesham to bowl after the break.
  • UPDATE - 1.02 am GMT - Good news, folks! The rain has stopped and we are all set to resume in about 10 minutes at 1.10 am GMT. Stay tuned.
