Commentary
  • Shaheen Afridi receives the trophy and walks across towards his teammates. Time to pose for the cameras. So, a dominating display from Pakistan at home as they white-wash their Asian rivals, Sri Lanka 3-0. The first ODI was a nail-biter but Pakistan completely outplayed Sri Lanka in the next two ODIs. That is all from this game. Hope you enjoyed the coverage. Goodbye for now.
  • Pakistan's skipper, Shaheen Afridi is happy to win the series 3-0. Tells that all the players were confident going into the series and it helped them a lot. Mentions that all the players are ready to step up, so rotating the squad doesn't hurt them. Mentions Haris Rauf and Mohammad Wasim and says they both are match-winners. Ends by saying it is a big achievement to beat their neighbours.
  • Kusal Mendis, the skipper of Sri Lanka says the top order gets off to a start but fails to convert into a big score. He hopes to learn from the series. Tells Jeffrey Vandersay bowled really well and is very happy with his performance. Hopes Wanindu Hasaranga is ready for the T20Is, reckons they have a different bowling unit for the short format.
  • Haris Rauf wins the PLAYER OF THE SERIES AWARD. He says it's not easy to bowl in the first phase but his job is to break partnerships. Tells that he is mentally ready and accepts the challenge to get important wickets. Mentions that conceding runs doesn't matter and feels it is important to make an impact in the game.
  • Mohammad Wasim, PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says the wicket suits their bowlers and it helped them to pick wickets. Tells he tries to bowl good lengths and hard lengths.
  • ...Presentation...
  • There was dew around and Sri Lanka found it hard to pick wickets. However, their spinners, Jeffrey Vandersay and Maheesh Theekshana, generated plenty of turn and kept them in the game. But with such a score to defend, Sri Lanka were chasing the game throughout and eventually lost by more than five overs to spare.
  • Chasing such a score, Pakistan got off to a flying start, thanks to the hard-hitter Fakhar Zaman's invaluable innings. Zaman and Azam's partnership almost closed out the game but Babar Azam's wicket brought Sri Lanka back into the game. Pakistan lost Salman Agha too but with patience and grit, Mohammad Rizwan and Hussain Talat built a match-winning partnership to put the game to bed.
  • It was a dead-rubber, but Pakistan, after opting to bowl first, showed character with the ball, keeping it tight and building a lot of pressure. Sri Lanka's opener got off to a good start but failed to convert it into a big innings. Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed as well but once the latter fell, the floodgates opened and Faisal Akram played a big role in cleaning up the middle-order. Pavan Rathnayake played a handy innings with the tail but lost too many partners and eventually ended with a below-par score.
  • A comfortable chase from Pakistan and they clean-sweep the series 3-0. It was a tricky target for Pakistan to chase it down. It wasn't straightforward for them as the wicket assisted the spinners a lot, but the hosts relied on their experienced players like Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan to take them through.
