Commentary
  • And that's a wrap! What a magnificent victory for Pakistan. The action continues in Pakistan T20I Tri-Series 2025 as we have a game lined up between Pakistan and Zimbabwe on Sunday, 23rd November at 1 pm GMT. Join us for all the early build-up, the toss, and every moment of the action. Until then, farewell from all of us, and cheers!
  • Salman Agha, skipper of Pakistan, says that in conditions like these, even a slight lapse in line and length can allow batters to punish you, so he focused on staying disciplined and keeping his bowling tight. He mentions that variations depend a lot on the pitch, and today he worked on generating more revs to try and bring the ball back in. When the surface is offering something, he believes you have to use it smartly to keep the batters guessing. As an all-rounder, he's thoroughly enjoying the responsibility and wants to contribute to the team in any way he can, whether with the ball, bat, or in the field. His mantra is to stay calm, stay clear, and always give 100 percent.
  • Dasun Shanaka, the skipper of Sri Lanka, says that he admits that his team underperformed, saying they weren't up to their usual standards. He's looking forward to the remaining two games, acknowledging that the team lacked intent and struggled with losing wickets in clusters, which has been a major concern. He emphasizes the need to work on this issue, expressing confidence that they are a better team than their current performance suggests.
  • Mohammad Nawaz is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his exceptional bowling. He says that he is working on the line and lengths of his delivery and tries to make it more perfect. Also says that he stuck to the plan and therefore he got the result. Ends up saying that he is also trying different kinds of variations, so that he can bag more wickets.
  • ... THE PRESENTATION ...
  • Earlier in the game, Pakistan completely dominated Sri Lanka, holding them to a low score of 128 runs for 7 wickets, even though the pitch was expected to be good for hitting. Sri Lanka's decision to bat first backfired, as their batters kept getting out cheaply due to a mix of poor judgment and excellent, disciplined bowling from Pakistan, especially Mohammad Nawaz, who took three crucial wickets. Only Janith managed a good score to stop a total disaster. Pakistan's bowlers and fielders were nearly perfect, earning them a strong advantage.
  • Despite a brief slowdown caused by Sri Lanka's spin bowlers, Wanindu Hasaranga and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, which saw Babar Azam struggling to score, Sahibzada Farhan continued his brilliant form. Farhan reached his half-century in a flash and grew even more aggressive as the target neared. Although Dushmantha Chameera created a moment of tension by dismissing both Babar Azam and Salman Agha in consecutive deliveries in the 14th over, the wobble was minor. Farhan continued with his hard hitting and ensured they got over the line without any hiccups.
  • Pakistan are cruising as they got back-to-back victories in this Tri-Nation Series! A decisive seven-wicket victory for the hosts. The foundation of the win was laid by Sahibzada Farhan, who delivered an outstanding, unbeaten knock of 80 runs off just 45 balls, completely overpowering the Sri Lankan bowlers. Sri Lanka's struggle started early due to undisciplined bowling, giving away too many easy runs to the opening pair, especially from Eshan Malinga. Although captain Dasun Shanaka managed to snag the first wicket of Saim Ayub, the early damage had been done.
